Historically, Charlotte’s Historic West End has been shaped by residents who supported one another and worked together to address shared challenges. The spirit of collaboration continues to guide the work of Five Points Community Collaborative.
As Charlotte’s Historic West End continues to grow and evolve, maintaining an informed and engaged community is more important than ever. When residents stay informed and participate, they are better prepared to address challenges and help shape the future of their neighborhoods.
Community Building & Mobilization
5PCC works to strengthen the social fabric of the Historic West End by connecting residents, sharing information, and encouraging civic participation.
Through free events, volunteer opportunities, neighborhood meetings, and ongoing communication, we build the relationships and trust needed to mobilize around issues affecting the community. 5PCC supports resident leadership, creates opportunities for collective action, and connects neighbors with resources, partnerships, and platforms to make their voices heard.
By fostering collaboration, developing community leaders, and creating spaces for residents to share ideas and take action, 5PCC helps ensure Historic West End remains a connected, informed, and empowered community. Whether celebrating the neighborhood or engaging residents on important community decisions, 5PCC helps residents shape the future of the neighborhood together.
Health and Wellbeing
At Five Points Community Collaborative, we believe healthy communities are engaged communities. When neighbors have opportunities to connect, stay active, and build relationships, communities become stronger, more resilient, and better equipped to thrive.
Through free wellness programs, family-friendly activities, and community partnerships, we create welcoming spaces that encourage physical activity, social connection, and community engagement. By bringing people together, we’re not only promoting individual well-being—we’re building a healthier, more connected Historic West End.
Community Revitilization
Five Points works to create and enhance welcoming public spaces throughout the West End. Through placemaking, programming, stewardship, beautification, and volunteer engagement, 5PCC supports the activation and care of parks, greenways, plazas, gardens, and other shared spaces.
5PCC works within a broader network of residents, neighborhood organizations, community stakeholders, and partners like Historic West End Partners (HWEP), a key collaborator in supporting efforts that sustain and improve valued community assets such as Five Points Plaza, Stewart Creek Greenway, Seversville Park, The Ritz at Washington Heights, and the Seversville Community Garden.
Community revitalization is about more than improving places—it is about creating welcoming environments that support connection, reflect the character of the neighborhood, and strengthen Charlotte’s Historic West End.
